Laptop Backlights: Useful Tips to Repair the Troubling Screen

Laptop backlights are the florescent tubes which illuminate the LCD screen of the laptops from behind and hence are named so. When the laptop backlights fails or when the mechanism gets repaired the start up fails and the display is either dim or dark that the contents on the display screen become unreadable.

Some times the display screen can become unreadable not only because of the laptop backlight failure but also due to the failure of the inverter which starts the circuitry. It is a circuit board that is smaller is size normally residing within the lid of the screen just beneath the LCD panel of the laptop. Once the failed or corrupted inverter is changed the laptop backlights start working making the display very clear.

When the laptop backlights fail, it might result in faint image or dark screen and so on. The repair of the laptop backlights can be a bit complicated as the LCD screens are not actually meant to be separated hence changing or replacing the ccfl tube should not be taken very lightly. The user can always change the LCD panel itself but is does not come for cheap. There are certain computer manufacturing companies which help in swapping the ccfl tube. They can be located by searching properly online. Laptop backlights can work properly for straight three years continuously for sure. The estimated cost for replacing the laptop backlights might range from ten US dollars to thirty US dollars, while the inverter might cost between sixty and one hundred and twenty US dollars and the cost for replacing the whole LCD would be around three hundred US dollars.
