How To Backup the Registry In Windows XP

Purpose of Backups:

1. To restore a state following a disaster.
2. To restore small numbers of files after they have been accidentally deleted or corrupted.

How to Backup the Registry

In order to backup your registry in windows xp, follow these simple steps:

1. Open Start menu, click Run, type regedit and select OK.



2. In Registry Editor, click File in the menu bar and click Export.



3. Look at the bottom of the newly appeared window and Under the Export range select All.



4. Put an appropriate file name (much better if you put date in there, so that it will be better for you to distinguish) and Save as file type Registration Files(*.reg).



That’s how easy it is to Backup your Registry in Windows XP. Back up often. You’ll know what i mean when disaster strikes.
