Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Beta - Is it for you?
Microsoft released Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) Beta last December 2008. However, some people are still skeptical on upgrading their Windows Vista operating system. Well, they have a good reason to do so because as the name implies, it’s still not a final release. There can be bugs and problems associated with Beta versions. So, what are the significant improvements of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 beta over its predecessor SP1?
Here are the most significant changes in SP2 beta over SP1:
1. You can now record or burn your data into a Blu Ray disc without having / or needing a third party application or burning software.
2. Windows Vista Service Pack 2 beta supports exFAT file system. What does it mean? exFAT file system enables your computer to handle large files that FAT32 can’t.
3. Bluetooth power consumption is reduced if you will using SP2 Beta (Bluetooth 2.1)
4. The Windows Search Engine 4 was introduced in SP2 Beta. How can this help you? Windows Search Engine 4 speeds up background indexing for faster search results.
5. SP2 will also improve your computer’s power management efficiency.
I only listed 5 of the most significant changes in Windows Vista SP2. Is it worth it to install the Beta for these changes? You’re the one who can only tell. If the above improvements don’t bother you, you can just wait for the final release. Otherwise you can download it here.
