Canon EOS 60D: The Best Selling Advanced DSLR Camera

The Canon EOS 60D digital SLR camera is Canon's best selling DSLR camera and recently, it passed its only significant rival, the Nikon D7000, to take the number 2 spot on Amazon's SLR camera bestsellers list. The increase in popularity of the 60D over the Nikon D7000 has not only been seen on Amazon, but with most major online vendors. The number 1 spot is held by the Nikon D3100, which is a far less advanced camera that was designed with entry-level photographers in mind.

The Canon 60D release date was in mid-September of 2010, which means that this is camera is still a very new, state of the art piece of equipment. The upgraded technology of the 60D puts that of its predecessor, the 50D, in stark contrast. With its updated DIGIC 4 imaging processors, 18 megapixel CMOS sensor, and a wide ISO range, the Canon EOS 60D truly outdoes its competiton. Matching up Canon 60D's low price with its stunning features, it becomes obvious why this camera is quickly growing to legendary status and is selling like hot cakes. Though the D7000 does slightly outdo the 60D is various aspects, its significantly heavier price tag has lowered the enthusiasm of consumers looking for an advanced DSLR.

One huge advantage that the 60D has over the D7000 is its vari-angle screen, allowing photographers to take pictures at angles that would be very difficult or simply impossible to take with the D7000. The high-resolution screen of the 60D, which displays images at over 1 million pixels, easily pops out and becomes fully rotational. This incredible flexibility has certainly played a part in 60D's conquest over the D7000.

Only time will tell for how long the Canon EOS 60D will continue to reign as king of advanced digital SLR camera's, but from the way things are looking right now, it seems that it will maintain a comfortable spot on Amazon's and other bestselling DSLR list for many months.
